Interested in spending 8 weeks helping to preserve some of Kauai’s most unique and diverse native forests while spending time in one of Hawaii’s finest State Parks? Koke‘e Resource Conservation Program is accepting applications for the 2018 Summer Internship Program, providing the opportunity to perform vegetation management activities in Koke‘e, Waimea Canyon, and Na Pali State Parks.
You will also have the opportunity to learn and gain experience in the taxonomy, function, and management of Hawaiian flora and terrestrial ecosystems as well as the threats to these native forests and what can be done about them.
Application closes at 5 pm HST on April 13, 2018. The summer internship program runs from May 28-July 21, and interns are required to put in 40 hours of work per week. Applicants must be 18 when the intern begins. Housing is provided in Koke‘e, and if needed, a living stipend of $125/week.
